Has Romney's run for the White House proven to be positive exposure for the Mormon faith or has it only raised more eyebrows as to what the Mormon faith is really all about?
Lets talk this one out:

Getting diplomatic with Religion and Politics. Let's talk this one out.
The fear or hesitance to talk religion or talk politics seems to becoming more and more of an issue these days. The idea of getting together with someone of a different faith or political position to share and discuss ideas, problems, thoughts, and solutions is one that most of us avoid at all costs. Is it really the insecurity of having conflicting opinions or is it the fear of actually acknowledging them in a diplomatic way that keeps us from engaging? I feel that it is the latter in most situations. What if there was a venue that could provide a safe and respectful environment for these difficult topics? I think we need to stop running from the real topics at hand and instead learn to embrace the differences and really start listening to what each other has to say without the fear of losing ourselves.
The Foundation for Religious Diplomacy might have some answers. Check us out.

Religion and the race to the White House

In America, despite the fact that the First Amendment clearly separates church and state, religious morality is still invoked to justify political positions and lay claim to political high ground. Presidential candidates are judged by their religious beliefs, which can by used by their supporters as a qualification for office, or framed by their opposition as disqualifying. This could be seen, for example, in the effort to prove that President Obama is a Muslim, an obvious attempt to make him an object of hate and fear.
